Focus groups are usually scams, as you will never get paid for what you have given, and you don’t know that we already have our data when you «don’t complete a survey». The truth: You completed our survey, and now we’re not going to pay you. How do you get paid? Post on sites like this that you can «make money» with your opinions. Most times, this will never happen. Sure, some sites will give you a few pennies for an hour of surveys, but the majority gain the data needed then «disqualify you» to avoid payment.

How do I know? I just interned with. They sell your data, after it’s be put through a basic algorithm, to extrapolate from your basic data. No opinions necessary. We look at respondent age and location, and then sub-categorize by income.

That’s all we need. Sometimes how many kids you have or the car you drive is all we need to know your spending habits. We are not about to pay you for what you volunteered when you sign up.

We already have all we need from you. We send emails for «opportunities», but three questions in, we’ve already compiled our data, and you are «disqualified». Don’t waste your time giving us free info that we sell for thousands and up to companies who think we actually did. We are crooks. Steer clear. I’ve almost completely stopped filling out surveys as a result. Five minutes of answering very detailed questions to get a disqualified message. I have better ways to waste my time, like browsing reddit :.

Then we allow our reddit make money online survey focus group to access your info and email. They already bought a set amount of emails, so we didn’t sell your email after you gave it to us, allowing us to say «we won’t sell your email». We already sold a «service» to customers partners that grants them use of our database, which is where we store your email. Hey, we’re crooks! Thank you for sharing this information. This is very misleading.

Focus groups are not «usually» scams. They are actually «usually» for research purposes. I work for one of Focus Pointe’s competitors in New Jersey and we do not sell any information from our respondents. Perhaps we are in the minority, but I don’t think so. I am new to the industry, so perhaps I am not completely correct, and other companies are shadier than.

I can only speak for the company I work for, but we are extremely careful with our database and any information respondents provide. If you fill out an online survey from us, it is used by us to identify individuals who may qualify based on the screener provided by our clients. We do not do anything else with your information, and all identifying information last name, phone number, email, etc is kept from the clients and does not leave our offices.

Focus groups and most online surveys are two completely different aspects of market research, as one is to find qualitative data while the other is for quantitative data. I suppose focusgroup. Something seems like it doesn’t add up.

I just think that your initial comment that «focus groups are usually scams» is very irresponsible. As someone who is studying marketing I would expect you would learn the value of qualitative research and that it’s actually used for research, and not typically a scam and would be able to separate it from online surveys.

Okay I just want to say that some sites you can work around getting disqualified, as I only get disqualified 1 out of 10 surveys, but I know there is some sites that do this, and you get disqualified a lot, and honestly swag bucks is one of them, that’s why I tell people not to do surveys on that site. Dailies, yes, anything else no. Honestly yes the sites make more money then you do, by you doing the survey.

If you want to make as much as them make your own site is the best thing I can say about this. I’ve done a few surveys for them over the course of the last five years and I’ve probably been accepted into about two or three focus groups per year. I invariably get paid via gift card but I reckon I’ve probably made a grand or two from them that way.

It helps that I’m in New York and all the focus groups I go to are physical, in person focus groups. I’ve done Focus Pointe in-person groups as. Pay used to be better years ago for less time spent. And now they pay only in pre-paid Visa, which is highly annoying considering no matter how many times Reddit make money online survey focus group make sure my info on the card was correct, online purchases wouldn’t work. And you can’t pull out money without incurring a fee.

Kinda shitty when they just used to do checks. Probably get a cut or some shit. I also do mystery shops as a side gig so the prepaid cards don’t bother me too much though they’re more inconvenient than cash or checks, I agree since I get reimbursements for my money spent.

I always wondered about those gigs. Never did them. In person groups are a pretty good way to get paid. I must admit, I caught some really good ones. I haven’t done them in a couple years.

I was also in a major metropolitan area Los Angeles at the time, so that helps with those groups. You’ve gotta seek out mystery shops, don’t ever take the ones that come to you unsolicited. Search a reputable directory like the Mystery Shop Provider’s Association and do a bit of research before signing up since most do ask for your SSN for tax purposes.

They charge a fee to get «certified» which I’ve never. But they also list pretty much every reputable mystery shopping company. Jobslinger is another good aggregate of sites. Mystery Shopper. Google «Facts and Figures».

They are an in person focus group located in Sherman Oaks, CA. Ah, yeah, I’ve gone through them. They do a lot of those taste testing ones, right?
